modeling the rockey planets
Make a scale model of the solar system
Pull out Mezzie measuring tape and see how fun it is to be a scientist using data tables, measuring and making scale models. In this lab your students will model the rocky inner planets to scale in comparison with a 3' sun ball. This will help them prepare for their solar system walk in the second part of the lab.
"Wow, who made this planet?"
Student - 5th grade.
Astronomy- The relative brightness of stars is because of their distance from us (Earth’s Place in the Universe 5-ESS1-1). Support an argument that differences in the apparent brightness of the sun compared to other stars is due to their relative distances from Earth.
